A YouTube user who was in a car behind the learner filmed the alleged attack, before later posting it online.

In their description they wrote that it was a ‘road rage’ incident, with the driver chasing the rider ‘through red lights and on the wrong side of the road’.

‘Karma happened when the Volkswagen lost his number plate in the crash,’ they wrote.

The video appears to show the car travel through a set of red lights, before swerving towards the bike.

The motorcyclist, whose bike was driven into a series of parked cars, was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with minor arm and knee injuries.

The driver is alleged to have fled the scene following the crash, with their car found a short time later.

The man is expected to appear in court next month facing charges including engaging in an act likely to cause harm, failing to render assistance after an accident and breaching his learner’s permit conditions.
