Robertson had originally been charged with murder in the killing of Walker, but in March was indicted on the lesser charge of manslaughter.

His attorney Ashkan Mehryari argued that there was ‘no malice’ behind the shooting, according to the Morning News.

Mehryari told the Morning News that the Wednesday court hearing was just an admonishment hearing, and had not been troubling the rapper.

Robertson shot Walker in the stomach with a rifle, police reported, and then drove his friend to the hospital where he died from the injury.

Police said there was a video on Walker’s phone of Robertson shooting him.

Robertson turned himself in 15 days after the shooting, and posted on Instagram his mugshot with the caption, ‘I appreciate all y’all support . They try to make u look guilty wen u innocent regardless .. we going to get pass this . Rip my brother love u’

While the cause of Robertson’s death has not been announced, fans began sharing screenshots of a troubling message Instagram story they say he recently posted.

It read: ‘Dear most high, Please forgive me for my shortcomings and all of the times I’ve fell short of making you proud and being appreciative of the blessings that have been put in my life sometimes the lines are blurred between being solid and being heartless I want to thank you for how far I’ve come and the people you’ve put in my life to keep me grounded and humble through everything and I love every single one of those people that are genuinely for me I ask for entrance into your kingdom thru all of my mistakes I know you love all of your children and I’m ready for my heart and soul to Join you.’

Attorney Mehryari told Dallas News that Robertson’s death was ‘very tragic’ and unexpected.

He said: ‘He had a very bright and promising music career ahead of him’

Stanley Gabart, whose production company worked with the star’s label, said: This kid was on a great path. He was struggling with some things we wish we would’ve known about, wish we could’ve intervened.’
