Lily James reunites with boyfriend Matt Smith in NYC

She’s been busy filming the prequel to Mamma Mia! in Croatia and London over the past few months.

And now Lily James swapped the heat for a chillier climate as she enjoyed time away from infront of the camera and with her other half Matt Smith instead in New York on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Baby Driver actress wrapped up for the outing in a statement black knee-length coat with shearling lining as she held on tightly to her beau Matt’s hand.

She draped her warmth-inducing garment around her shoulders while her red print dress peeped out underneath as she tackled the Big Apple’s streets in her Reebox trainers.

Attempting to remain low-key, the Cinderella star acessorised her look with a Burberry scarf, leather YSL cross-body bag and studded earrings while she covered her trademark long blonde locks with a simple baseball cap.

Happy to be reunited with his other half, The Crown’s Matt complemented Lily in a relaxed fit navy wool coat over a matching hoodie.

Wearing a pair of dark wash denims, he teamed the look with a pair of military boots while wrapping a striped scarf around his neck and keeping his ears warm with a grey beanie.

Their outing comes after Lily – who had spent the past few months cavorting about the set in towering platform boots for the highly-anticipated Seventies-set film – has been left hobbling around in a far less glamorous foot brace.

While frantic producers could use a body double for some scenes, it’s thought they will instead push back shooting.

‘Poor Lily tripped really badly and stubbed her toe, breaking her foot in the process,’ a studio insider told the Daily Mail. ‘They were due to shoot most of the dancing scenes this week, so Lily’s have all been delayed.’

Lily revealed she had broken her toe when commenting alongside a Thanksgiving snap she shared on Instagram last month.

Her London destination was a stark contrast to the balmy landscape of Croatia, where Lily has been devoting most of her time while filming upcoming movie Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Filming kicked off for the prequel to 2008’s Mamma Mia in mid-August, with the hotly-anticipated film slated to be released next July.

The upcoming flick ‘goes back and forth in time to show how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present’, according to Deadline.

Lily will play Donna way before she became Mamma Mia! heroine Sophie’s mother, played by Meryl Streep in the first film, while Jeremy plays a younger version of her lover Sam Carmichael – played by Pierce Brosnan.

Meanwhile, their loving reunion comes as Matt has topped The GQ Best Dressed Men List.
