Lily James wears a Bumble sweater with tight jeans to play dating app founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while filming the movie Swiped in California

Lily James is trying her luck with the dating apps.

The Golden Globe nominee, 35, sported some Bumble swag on Thursday in Claremont, California as she filmed Swiped, a biopic about the app’s founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.

She donned a chic white sweater featuring a yellow stripe across the chest with the Bumble logo in black.

James’ look was paired with dark jeans, white Adidas sneakers, round gold-framed sunglasses and matching jewelry.

The British actress also carried a yellow Bumble tote bag full of merchandise while filming scenes and talking with director Rachel Lee Goldenberg.

She was announced to star as Wolfe and produce Swiped back in March, and she began filming last month in Los Angeles.

According to Deadline, the movie is ‘an inspiration and not based on Wolfe’s life and it is unknown how this film will compare to the actual origin story.’

From 20th Century Studios and Ethea Entertainment, the film also stars Jackson White, Dan Stevens, Ben Schnetzer, Myha’la Herrold and Pierson Fodé.

Wolfe, now 34, became the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world when she took Bumble public in 2021 after launching in 2014.

Currently the second-most used dating app in the world, Bumble is popular for its women-first approach.

Wolfe co-founded the app months after she was forced to leave Tinder — another dating app she co-founded — following sexual harassment from a colleague.

In a 2022 interview with The Times, Wolfe said that she felt ‘isolated’ while in the tech world and ‘gendered’ by the headlines surrounding her departure from the company she began at age 25.

‘Women who have accomplished things get scrutinized differently. If you were to change the word “Whitney” to “John” in the headlines I bet you people would think they read weirdly,’ she said.

Wolfe added that she had been considering stepping away for a while as she believes some Silicon Valley CEOs remain in their roles too long and for the wrong reasons.

‘In the past few years I’ve brought human life into the world,’ she said. ‘I’ve gone through health challenges. I also exist outside of Bumble. So it’s right to re-evaluate.’

In November, Wolfe stepped down as CEO and handed the reins to seasoned tech and business executive Lidiane Jones.

James’ latest role comes after she earned her first Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal of Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy.

Swiped is expected to premiere in 2025.
