Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael Lohan says he had cancerous lesion taken off his hand: ‘Never be ashamed of the scars life has left you with’

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael Lohan took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that he had a cancerous lesion removed from his hand.

Michael, 63, showed off a picture of his hand, which was stitched up, to his followers on the account.

The Syosset, New York native shared a message of faith as he reflected on the health scare.

He said: ‘TODAY. Never be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed, you endured the pain, and God has healed you. Amen!’

Michael spoke to TMZ Wednesday in the wake of the procedure, saying that he had been ‘diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma’ around 2020.

Michael said that ‘a suspicious lesion’ on his hand led him to undergo a biopsy, which revealed a cancer that had ‘deep roots.’

Michael said that on Tuesday evening, doctors informed him that he had to have the growth removed immediately, which he did on Wednesday.

Doctors had to do ‘a lot of digging’ to remove the growth, Michael told the outlet, and were able to effectively extract it.

Doctors have told Michael he is dealing with an ‘aggressive’ form of cancer that he remains alert to, he said.

Michael told the outlet that he didn’t bring up the emergency procedure to daughter Lindsay so as not ‘to worry or affect her work.’

The outlet reported that Michael had made his son Michael Jr. aware of what had happened.

Michael received a number of empathetic, spiritual and supportive responses from his followers in the wake of the medical procedure.

One person said, ‘Praying for your complete healing, Michael, in Jesus name, amen!’
