Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and the Barcelona squad travelled to Liverpool in style.

Ernesto Valverde’s side looked the part on Monday as they were filmed shortly prior to departure at the airport in Catalonia.

Kitted out in their grey club suits, the players were filmed walking to the plane ahead of the two-and-a-half hour flight to Merseyside.

Messi, wearing a tie and waistcoat, sipped on his Mate tea as he sat alongside Suarez for the journey.

The Barcelona legend proved to be the main difference against Liverpool in the first leg with two goals in the 3-0 win. He posted the picture with his Uruguayan team-mate on Instagram.

The club also shared footage of the players stepping off a bus near the runway at the airport.

One of Barcelona’s sponsors is Thom Browne tailors and each player is specially fitted for the custom-made travel wear.

The Fresco suits come to a grand total of £4,200 each and the team have worn them to every Champions League away game this season.

With 20 players in Barcelona’s travelling party, plus the manager wearing it, it’s around £100,000’s worth of specially made clothing.

The deal with Thom Browne runs for three years in total and the Spanish side renonwed for their style and class on the pitch take pride in mirroring those traits off it.

Liverpool were on the receiving end a week ago and have a mountain to climb at Anfield.

One away goal would leave the Reds needing to score five without reply and Jurgen Klopp’s side will need a miraculous performance to reach the final.
