The England Lionesses have been pictured in getting off the plane in Australia after touching down in the Sunshine Coast ahead of the Women’s World Cup. 

Millie Bright, Rachael Daly and Mary Earps were seen making their way across the tarmac after stepping off the plane on Friday morning. 

The England trio appeared to be in good spirits as they headed for the team bus following an epic 36-hour journey. 

Sarina Wiegman side have just over two weeks to acclimatise to their new surroundings before taking to the pitch for their opening match of the tournament. 

The Lionesses are expected to reach the latter stages of the competition and will be full of confidence ahead of the 2023 World Cup.

Local school children were also spotted outside the venue, trying to catch a glimpse of Wiegman’s team before they headed in for some well-earnt rest. 

The Lionesses were also greeted by some kangaroos after checking into their rooms on the Sunshine Coast.

The players opened the windows of their hotel rooms to see the animal which has become indigenous to Australia.  

Wiegman’s side will start their World Cup campaign by facing Haiti on July 22nd in Brisbane and look to secure their first win in the competition. 

The European champions will then face Denmark less than a week later in Sydney before concluding the group stages by playing China in Adelaide. 

While the men’s side were unable to bring it home in December, falling to defeat at the hands of France, the England could do one better and win it all this summer.
