Lisa Armstrong urges Ant McPartlin to ditch toxic friends

Lisa Armstrong has ‘urged’ estranged husband Ant McPartlin to dissociate himself with ‘toxic friends and hangers-on’ in a bid to reconcile with the troubled star.

The make-up artist, 42, is said to be confident that her 11-year marriage to Ant, who confirmed their split in January, can be salvaged upon his return from residential rehabilitation, claims The Sun.

But she is reportedly keen on the 42-year old presenter severing all ties with the group of people she believes played a part in their recent separation.

A source told the publication: ‘Lisa has told close pals that she thinks Ant is lost without her and that the toxic people around him turned him against her.

‘She thinks the fact he’s now hit rock-bottom will push him back to her and that he wasn’t thinking straight when he filed for divorce.

‘Lisa thinks that deep down he wants her back, and thinks once he’s out of rehab they can rekindle.’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for further comment.

‘Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.’
