It’s almost impossible to look un-Australian while eating a meat pie.
But Today show host Lisa Wilkinson was seen committing a cardinal sin while eating the Aussie snack on national television on Tuesday morning.
In the video, the 57-year-old could be seen lifting back the lid of a meat pie while digging around with a spoon.

She eventually used the spoon to take a scoop of the filling and lifted it to her mouth, leaving Today co-host Karl Stefanovic looking on in bewilderment.
Karl decided to make sure the act didn’t go unnoticed and called out Lisa’s questionable pie eating method.
‘Lisa’s eating a pie with a spoon – un-Australian,’ he said.
‘That’s what I always do. You know me,’ Lisa replied.
‘Because I’m not a big fan of a lot of pastry. A bad pie is one that has miles of pastry and only a tiny bit of filling.’
Karl heard Lisa out, but refused to accept her explanation and quizzed her further on why she was using the utensil.

‘Sometimes, as you know, I just stick my fist in and go for it,’ she said.
The awkward response raised eyebrows on the panel, as Karl was seen visibly cringing.
One viewer commented on social media saying Lisa has some ‘real shockers’ when trying to describe how she does things.
‘She’s done it again … Karl’s face says it all. She will make him fall off his chair one day,’ the viewer said.
But another viewer said she has found a ‘soul mate’ in Lisa after witnessing her eating the pie with a spoon.
‘When I order a pie, I always eat the pastry and if the kids don’t want my filling, I just toss it,’ she said.
‘Next time I want one, I will have to have a date with Lisa!’
