Lisa Wilkinson has shared a hilarious throwback video of an awkward interview gaffe which left her red-faced.
The TV presenter, 64, took to Instagram on Saturday to share the footage from a now-viral segment on the Today show from nearly 10 years ago.
The moment from 2015 saw her leave her co-host Karl Stefanovic in stitches when she suffered an unfortunate inadvertent double entendre during an interview.
The pair were chatting to a group of bearded men about their charity The Beard Season, which encourages men to grow their facial hair in an annual skin cancer fundraiser and awareness drive.
Lisa then joked that she would join the group of men in growing a beard herself, saying: ‘I tell you what, I’ll grow a beard because it’s in my genes.’
However, Karl, 49, misunderstood her meaning and sounded shocked as he asked: ‘It’s in your jeans? What?’
Realising the hilarious double entendre, the co-hosts were left in fits of laughter as they struggled to compose themselves, with Lisa looking very red-faced.
Lisa poked fan at the amusing interviewing gaffe as she shared the footage to Instagram, admitting she often sees it going viral on social media.

She also shared the backstory behind her remark, explaining that she was referring to her great, great grandmother’s ‘shocking case of facial hair’.
Alongside the clip, she penned: ‘I don’t know I can ever live this moment down from around ten years ago on the Today Show, but it’s hilarious how often it keeps popping up on socials… and it’s happening again.
‘But there’s a back story I told on the show that you may have missed!!

Fans were quick to take to the comments section to share their amusement at the clip, and also begged her to rejoin Karl hosting the Today show.
‘You guys were fun together. You kept old mate in check. Miss you on morning tv,’ one wrote.
‘It’s still hilarious today I’m laughing tears. You’re an incredible woman who can even laugh at yourself along with others,’ another said.
A third penned: ‘The today show hasn’t been the same since those days,’ while a fourth commented: ‘You and Karl were the best duo!! So many laughs.’

A fifth shared: ‘We need to see you back on air soon please,’ and another added: ‘Funny times – the show hasn’t been the same since you left.’
Lisa left the Today show in 2017 after a decade working on the Nine Network program due to a pay disparity with Karl.
She took an offer from a rival network as host on Channel Ten’s The Project, where she remained until 2022.
