Little Stanley Street park stabbing: Two brothers are knifed after argument with group of 15 people

Two brothers, aged 18 and 25, were stabbed in south Brisbane during an altercation with a group of 10 to 15 people. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene at a park on Little Stanley Street in South Brisbane at about 10pm on Tuesday.

‘Initial investigations indicate the 18-year-old and 25-year-old brothers were in the company of a female when they became involved in a minor disturbance with the group,’ Queensland Police said in a statement.

‘It’s believed the group are not known to the three, however during the disturbance, a man in the group allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the older brother in the abdomen and the younger in the upper leg.

‘The woman was not physically harmed.’

Both brothers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers patrolled the area but were unable to find the group. 

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the alleged attack or was driving through the area and has relevant dash camera footage, to contact them. 

Investigations are ongoing.
