Diogo Jota was on the scoresheet as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao in a pre-season friendly at Anfield on Sunday.
Jota found the net with an adroit finish in the 13th minute but Bilbao equalised in the second half, with Alex Berenguer scoring.
The game was overshadowed by an injury to Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, who suffered an ankle problem.

On a more positive note, Virgil van Dijk continued his comeback from injury, with the centre-back starting the game and playing 72 minutes.
In front of around 40,000 Liverpool fans, Jota put the Reds ahead having been teed up by Sadio Mane.
Mane then did well to play in Mohamed Salah, who in turn found Jota, but this time the latter’s effort was cleared off the line.

Bilabo equalised in the 53rd minute, with Berenguer finding the net having been found by Oihan Sancet.
Mane had a shot saved and then youngster Harvey Elliott, who has had an impressive pre-season, struck the woodwork, with the game ending 1-1.
