Liverpool Airport has delivered a stinging five-word dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold after he left Anfield for Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold opted to run down his contract at his boyhood club before joining Real this summer, with the Reds eventually receiving a £10million fee to enable the right back to play in the Club World Cup.

The 26-year-old defender is in line to make his debut for the Spanish giants when they take on Al-Hilal in Miami on Wednesday.

He received a mixed reception in his final weeks on Merseyside after confirming his departure, with his own fans booing him when he came on as a substitute against Arsenal last month.

The England star has made an effort to endear himself to his new club and their supporters by giving a speech in fluent Spanish and sharing his early experiences as a Real Madrid player on social media.

That, however, has not left him immune to continued criticism from home.

One post in particular drew the attention of Liverpool John Lennon Airport who reacted by making a snide dig at Alexander-Arnold on their official X account.

Alexander-Arnold posted a montage of his flight to Madrid and his presentation as a Real player to the backdrop of Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s Monaco.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport quoted the post on their own X account and wrote: ‘He even flew from Manchester’, accompanied by a snake emoji.

The tweet was later replaced, with the snake swapped for an eyeroll emoji but not before it was seen by hundreds of people.

Alexander-Arnold, who signed a six-year-old deal at Madrid, has taken the squad number 12 and will be known simply as ‘Trent’.

After Real’s opener against Al-Hilal, the Spanish giants will face Pachuca and RB Salzburg in the group phase of the revamped Club World Cup.
