Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has shared pictures of himself and newborn son Alberto Jnr after Jurgen Klopp revealed the Spaniard missed the birth because he was preparing for Saturday’s match against Southampton.

Klopp revealed that Moreno was not present at the hospital because he was asleep in the team hotel.

Moreno’s partner Lilia gave birth to the couple’s second child at 2:30am on Saturday morning.

In his Instagram pictures, Moreno describes his wife as ‘my warrior’ before declaring ‘we are one more red in the world.’

Speaking after his side’s 3-0 win at Anfield, Klopp cold only apologise to Lilia for Moreno’s absence. 

‘Albero Moreno is a father, 2.30 last night, his wonderful wife (gave birth), Alberto Junior Moreno was born in Liverpool,’ the German said.

‘He was in the hotel….sorry!’

Moreno continued his upturn in form with another solid display at Anfield on Saturday as Liverpool claimed a comfortable win over Mauricio Pellegrino’s side.

Mohamed Salah scored twice in the first half before Philippe Coutinho added a third in the second.

The birth of his son and three points continued an emphatic week for Moreno after he made his first appearance for Spain in three years in their 3-3 draw with Russia on Tuesday.
