Liverpool have ‘strong interest’ in Rennes winger Jeremy Doku as Jurgen Klopp looks to reshape his side’s attack…but could face hefty price tag with the Belgian having two years left on his contract

Liverpool have a ‘strong interest’ in bringing Rennes winger Jeremy Doku to the club this summer.

The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister in this summer’s window, and have been heavily linked with a number of midfielders including Romeo Lavia, Khephren Thuram, Manu Kone and Gabri Veiga.

Now, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, the Reds are targeting Stade Rennais’ Belgian international.

There’s been no fee or agreement discussed between the clubs, but given Doku’s contract in France runs until 2025, there could be a weighty price tag on his shoulders.

Rennes signed the 21-year-old from Anderlecht in 2020 for £21million, and last season the Belgian attacker made 35 appearances, scored seven goals and contributed two assists for the French side.

Doku has been capped by Belgium 14 times, scoring two goals,  and he was part of the national team squads for both Euro 2020 and last winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

Last week he came off the bench as Belgium remained unbeaten in their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Estonia.

Liverpool are keen to add to their midfield options having seen Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all leave the club at the end of the season.

However, Doku, who’s known for his impressive dribbling skills, would also give Liverpool another option in attack in the wide areas alongside Mohammed Salah and Luis Diaz.
