Liverpool legend Terry McDermott puts his three European Cup winners’ medals up for auction
Liverpool legend Terry McDermott will auction his three European Cup winners’ medals on Tuesday.
The sale – at Sotheby’s in London – comes just four days before the Reds meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final, a repeat of the 1981 final in which McDermott played in a 1-0 victory.
Also under the hammer are his four league championship medals.

There are 43 items in total and, if all reserve prices are met, he could raise around £150,000.
The European Cup medals from 1977, ’78 and ’81 are reserved at £10-15,000 each.
The former England midfielder told Sportsmail: ‘The main reason is to look after my kids, to help them get on the property ladder, I’m doing it for them.
‘It’s nice to have the medals, of course, but they’re always at risk of theft or, if not, you keep them in a vault at the bank, and what’s the point in that?
‘I am proud of what I’ve won. But I will be more proud if my children are all happy.’
