Liverpool legends Gary McAllister and Phil Babb back Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to shine in Kiev: ‘I’m praying for magic’
Liverpool legends Gary McAllister and Phil Babb are counting down the days until their former club takes on Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev, while anticipating a nervy affair ahead.
The two players both experienced the high and lows with the Reds during their career, and will now watch on as Jurgen Klopp’s side bid to become champions of Europe for the sixth time in the club’s history.
McAllister and Babb sat down recently with BetVictor to discuss Saturday’s showdown in Ukraine, with hopes pinned firmly upon Liverpool’s dynamic front trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The Red’s European campaign has been littered with moments of magic throughout and former UEFA Cup winner McAllister is praying on much of the same in Ukraine.
‘Being biased I hope we have a good 10 or 15 minute period because Liverpool have been devastating in periods of matches.
‘Little pockets of games where Mane, Salah and Firmino have combined and I’ve just seen the opposition go into shock.
‘I’m praying for a bit of 15 or 20 minute magic from those three.’
Babb, who played in Liverpool’s back line from 1994-2000, is also backing the prolific trio to be the catalyst of any potential triumph, though acknowledges the competition’s leading scorer Cristiano Ronaldo never fails to show up to the big occasion.

The Champions League’s leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo is well used to the big occasion
‘Mo Salah has been unstoppable, [Roberto] Firmino his work-rate has been really under-rated but he’s been a real asset to the club. The front three can score against anyone but so can Real Madrid.
‘Cristiano Ronaldo loves these events any excuse to get his top off he’ll do it, he turns up for the Champions League final.
‘I actually think this match is going to go to extra time, my score would be 2-2 extra-time and penalties. Liverpool don’t do it the easy way, I think they’ll win it on penalties.’
