Liverpool are yet to make an offer for Celta Vigo’s £30m star Gabri Veiga as Jurgen Klopp eyes his next midfield move after landing Alexis Mac Allister
Liverpool have been linked with a bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga as Fabio Carvalho is set to join Red Bull Leipzig on loan next week.
It comes as Jurgen Klopp is looking to replenish his midfield stocks this summer and has already taken steps to refresh his options in the centre of the park, signing Alexis Mac Allister for £35million two weeks ago.
It seems they are not done yet though, with Carvalho’s deal close, Klopp is looking to add some more depth to his squad and emerging talent Veiga, who is currently playing at the Euro U21 championships with Spain could be a great purchase.
However, Liverpool have not made an offer for the exciting young Spaniard. The 21-year-old is of interest to the Merseyside outfit, but they will need to meet a £30m release clause to acquire him.
Having graduated from the Celta Vigo academy, Veiga enjoyed a break out season in the first team last season, scoring 11 times across 36 LaLiga appearances, going on to cement himself as a regular face in Sky Blues’ first XI, to make 28 starts throughout the season.

It was a difficult season for the Galicia side, who narrowly avoided relegation this season, by just three points.
And it was perhaps, Veiga who saved them, scoring an all-important brace of goals against Barcelona in their final game of the season, to ensure their safety with a 2-1 triumph over the Spanish Champions and put a sour note on Xavi’s title celebrations.
It’s no secret though that his fantastic form has been attracting the attention of several clubs around the top-flight.

Chelsea have also been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old and is seen as a viable replacement for departing midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who was not offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
It’s clear Liverpool will face some big competition to sign the young prospect, but after the departures of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo, Klopp will certainly be looking to Veiga as a player who will bring plenty of value to his midfield positions.
