- Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be a January target for Real Betis
- The La Liga side have suffered an injury set-back with star man Antonio Sanabria
- Reports in Spain claim Betis will now move for the out-of-favour Liverpool ace
Daniel Sturridge could be poised for a January move to La Liga after Real Betis emerged as potential suitors for the England international.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the Anfield pecking order this season with Liverpool’s ‘fantastic four’ forward line of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho firing on all cylinders.
Sturridge as a result has started just five games for the Reds in all competitions, with a further nine appearances as a substitute with three goals along the way.

It’s not the return the typically prolific striker is used to and, with next summer’s World Cup looming large, Sturridge’s inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s Russia plans remains in the balance.
Reports in Spain, from sporting publication El Gol Digital, claim Betis’s interest in the player has been further increased by their own injury set-back to star striker Antonio Sanabria.
The Paraguayan had a fantastic start to the season, scoring a winner against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu but his recent knee injury was so significant it required surgery.
The 21-year-old, who had scored seven goals in 12 games, now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines and his absence leaves a big hole in Betis’ squad.

Sturridge is believed to be open to considering his options and seeking a January move away from Anfield, even on a short-term loan deal.
Spanish report indicate Betis are hopeful of coming to an agreement with the Reds whereby they can take Sturridge until the end of the season, with scope for a permanent deal then to follow.
The Birmingham-born forward only featured with a cameo appearance in Liverpool’s recent Champions League mauling of Spartak Moscow at Anfield, replacing Firmino late on in the contest when the Reds were already cruising at 5-0.
Nevertheless Sturridge still left his mark on the tie and showed his star quality, laying on an assist for Mane to notch the Reds’ sixth before Salah sealed the rout five minutes from time.
