Liverpool are set to return to Asia this summer for a two-leg pre-season tour with stops in Hong Kong and Japan.

The Reds will play AC Milan in Hong Kong 20 years on from the famous 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, before travelling to Japan for the first time ever.

That game will take place on Saturday July 26 at the newly-opened Kai Tak Stadium.

Details have not been finalised for the matches in Japan but the visit there comes after a deal with Japan Airlines. The squad will, of course, fly with that firm in luxury fashion.

Liverpool return to Asia after last jetting there in 2023 for what was Jurgen Klopp’s final pre-season, in Singapore, but they went Stateside last summer with a three-leg tour including stops in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Columbia.

Midfielder Wataru Endo, the captain of Japan, is likely to be a popular asset on the trip.
