The Champions League draw has thrown up some intriguing ties for the quarter-finals – with Liverpool versus Manchester City arguably the pick of the bunch.
The all-English affair ensures that one Premier League representative will be in the hat for the semi-final stage of the competition – with neutrals bound to be glued to both legs.
However, for those linked to either club it’s set to prove a nervy affair with both teams have recorded a victory over each other in the league this season.

Having seen the draw on Friday, Kyle Walker was the first to react to it from either squad.
The Manchester City right back wrote on Twitter: ‘Liverpool? Ok, let’s go!!! #UCL’ as he accompanied the caption with a picture of him training in a pair of sunglasses.
Walker’s positive post was mirrored by other social media accounts who believe that this is far from ideal for Liverpool.
Footy Accumulators made light of the situation by tweeting: ‘Shevchenko FINALLY gets revenge on Liverpool!’.

This is in relation to the Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko seeing his spot-kick saved during Milan’s penalty shootout defeat by the Reds in the 2005 showpiece. Shevchenko alongside UEFA competitions director Giorgio Marchetti did the Champions League quarter-final draw on Friday.
