‘He had been vomiting and I tried talking to him, but he couldn’t talk to me. He was just making noises so I knew something was wrong,’ she told Southern Cross News.

‘I just said ‘are you alright?’ but he didn’t say anything. He just looked at me.’

The young woman had asked her brother to come visit her after she recently moved to Hobart to live on her own.

‘I asked him to come visit me so he did just for the week because he knew I was scared I guess… It was a big move,’ she said.

‘He’s one of my best friends so it’s what you do.’

His condition deteriorated on the day he was due to fly back home.

‘It kind of looked like he was about to have a fit or something,’ Lucy told 7 News.

‘We quickly pulled him out of the car and called the ambulance, and he was unconscious for about 20 minutes.’

But after he was taken to hospital, doctors were unable to save him.
