‘Local Karen to blame’ for furious note that sparked street feud – as neighbours in the ritzy suburb rally around family at centre of party row

A Sydney homeowner who took aim at a group of young women for having a halloween party in her street has been slammed by other neighbours who claim she couldn’t be more wrong.

The housemates had warned fellow residents on the street of the party at the home just off of Balmoral Beach in Mosman, North Sydney, before it started on Saturday night.

The handwritten notes promised ‘noise and disruptions’ would be kept within reasonable limits out of respect for the surrounding community’ and acknowledged the potential inconvenience.

‘We understand that residing next to a house that hosts an event can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.’

While it noted that police had been warned about the event, one neighbour took to a locals social media group to complain about the party on Monday morning.

The frustrated neighbour claimed the home had been turned into a ‘frat house’ and been host to a number of loud parties since being sold for $8million in June last year.

She went on to say the party had continued until about 2.30am, however, others in adjacent properties disagreed.

One neighbour told Daily Mail Australia the party hosts and their guests were nothing but courteous and they had only held two other parties in the year since living there.

They said the local’s claims in a social media post (pictured) were overblown and that the tenants were courteous and had only had three parties since June last year

He said the tenants had come over to apologise in person for a previous party which was ‘a bit loud’.

The neighbour added they ‘couldn’t hear’ the party on Saturday night and were appreciative of the handwritten letter.

A second agreed that even with the rare parties, they’ve had no complaints with the tenants.

They both said Saturday’s Halloween party had finished by 1am, well before the woman’s claims of a 2.30am kick-on.

Another noted that he had no clue a party was going on, saying he ‘never noticed’ any loud noise or music.

NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia they received no noise complaints for the home on Saturday night.

The home, built in 1981, was listed for sale for the first time in June 2023 and described as an ‘exceptionally rare opportunity’ to build in an ‘idyllic Balmoral setting’.

‘It’s the quintessential setting for a family lifestyle where a morning swim and a stroll along the sands of Balmoral Beach is only 130m away,’ the listing reads.

A renovated home on the same street sold for an eye-whopping $10.4million in August this year.
