Logan Hospital, Queensland locked down amid reports of an armed man inside

A Queensland hospital has been plunged into a ‘code black’ lockdown amid reports a man armed with a rifle is on the loose inside.

Multiple police crews were called to Logan Hospital, about 30km southeast of Brisbane’s CBD, at about 11.20am on Wednesday.

People have been locked inside rooms for over an hour as the lockdown continues.

A witness claimed the armed man was holding a rifle.

‘A guy came up the ramp with a rifle. Everyone rushed in and got taken out of the waiting room to behind the solid door,’ they wrote on social media.

‘The hospital is on code black. The gunman is outside. We’ve been in lockdown for almost an hour.’

A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: ‘We are responding to an incident.  No one is allowed in or out of the hospital.

‘There are multiple units on the scene. There are no reported injuries.’
