Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes is set to open the Logie Awards for his fourth year running.
And in a surprising turn of events, the 47-year-old comedian has announced his date for the ceremony will be none other than Married At First Sight’s Nasser Sultan.
During an interview with hit 105’s Stav, Abby & Matt on Wednesday, both Hughesy and Nasser explained their decision to partner up for the night.

Hughesy revealed: ‘I was speaking to the producer of the Logies the other day and saw that Nasser wasn’t invited and thought, “We have to get him in there”.’
Nasser added: ‘Honestly… honest to god. How do you invite 70 per cent of the [Married At First Sight] cast and not the rest?’
He explained that most of the MAFS cast were invited to the Logies – which takes place on Sunday night on the Gold Coast – but he was left off the guest list.

‘This is what [Hughesy] is doing, he’s fighting for the little man and believes we should all go,’ Nasser added.
‘We should all celebrate! We all put the effort in and we all put our lives on the line and put it all out there.
‘I love you for doing this, Hughesy, and I want to be your date. But let me tell you, I am not cheap. I need flowers and I need a suit!’
It all worked out! During an interview with hit 105’s Stav, Abby & Matt on Wednesday, Hughesy offered to take Nasser as his date, which the 51-year-old personal trainer happily accepted
Hughesy replied: ‘I would love to take you Nasser. At this point, I don’t have a date. So, If I can get a date to the Logies, Nasser, I will take you!’
‘You have no idea how much this would mean to me,’ Nasser said. ‘I’ve never worn a suit in my whole life, other than my “wedding”.’
There was just one condition, however: Nasser had to promise he’ll laugh when Hughesy makes fun of him onstage.
Fortunately, the 51-year-old personal trainer was more than happy to oblige.
