Lone Wolf ‘naked bikie’ Erkan Keskin, 41, walks free on bail after child porn charges

A high-ranking Lone Wolf gang member known as the ‘Naked Bikie’ has traded in jail for a luxury apartment with stunning views of Sydney’s iconic harbour.

Erkan Keskin pleaded not guilty on Friday after detectives allegedly found ‘child exploitation images’ on a computer during a search of his two-bedroom unit in Millers Point last year.

The 41-year-old was later seen walking out of the Surry Hills police station after being granted conditional bail by Magistrate Robert Williams.

Mr Keskin will now await trail at his apartment in the city, which boasts a wrap-around balcony, as well as a pool, spa, sauna and gymnasium within the complex.

The bikie’s barrister Grant Brady SC told the court on Friday the ‘child pornography’ his client allegedly possessed were pictures contained within a family album.

‘This is not child pornography, these were shots of their kids that are usual in family albums,’ said Mr Brady. ‘And there is nothing to indicate he was the person who took the photos and even knew the photos were there’.

Mr Brady described the prosecution case as ‘very weak’ and told Magistrate Williams he would appreciate that it was ‘part and parcel’ for children to be seen in ‘states of various dress’ in family photo albums.

He told the court police investigators had found the pictures on an old computer which had not been turned on since July 2015.

Additionally, the computer username belonged to Keskin’s wife, who lives in Dubai with their children, he argued.

‘It was an old computer with family albums that was under his wife’s name,’ Mr Brady said.

Prosecutor Ben Delaroche opposed bail, telling the court there was an unacceptable risk Keskin would commit other serious indictable offences.

Mr Delaroche said Keskin was already on bail for other offences (including a serious alleged drug matter).

He noted Keskin had a violent history and said police did not believe the current, ‘extremely strict’ bail conditions were  adequate.

The prosecutor said police found three men at the apartment during a search warrant who were ‘members of an outdoor motorcycle gang’.

Detectives were also concerned Keskin’s electronic bracelet did not match up with CCTV, he told the court.

Mr Brady said he had not heard either allegation before the court. Keskin wore a black T-shirt and was expressionless as he appeared in court via audio-visual link.

Magistrate Williams said the fact the computer had not been turned on in years and the circumstances of the photos made the prosecution case seem ‘reasonably weak’.

The magistrate said the court did not consider his criminal record as lengthy. He granted Keskin conditional bail and the matter returns to court in a fortnight.

Keskin was bailed in 2015 to a $10-million mansion in Sydney’s exclusive Double Bay suburb.
