Teenagers are purchasing a pair of Lorna Jane activewear trousers in droves because of a viral dance trend on TikTok, and the brand is struggling to keep them in stock.
Lorna Clarkson, the owner of the Australian sportswear company, was surprised when the $79.99 Flashdance Pant, a design she first brought to the market 30 years ago, was selling out online.
‘The Flashdance pants have been one of the brand’s best-selling styles for many years, so seeing a sudden spike in sales for this cult-favourite seemed like it came completely out of the blue,’ Lorna told news.com.au.

‘But the unexpected rise in popularity can be attributed to none other than user-generated content on TikTok.’
Young women are obsessing over the ultra comfortable track pants designed to ‘move with you’, featuring a loose-fit stretch woven fabric that has become a Lorna Jane classes.

‘We’ve been restocking them as fast as we can,’ Lorna said. ‘The community are so creative with their content, it’s impressive to see the passion behind these creators. It’s even more special to see daughters loving a style that are already in their mum’s wardrobe.’
Most of the videos on TikTok are showcasing what other accessories and clothing items work alongside the Flashdance pants, with others choosing to dance in them to classic tunes.
‘These are the comfiest, most stylish pants I know,’ one user wrote.
‘I ordered them yesterday. I can’t wait for them to arrive,’ said another.
