Louella Michie’s boyfriend released ‘heartbreak’ song

The rapper boyfriend of Louella Michie who was arrested over her death had released a song about a girl ‘disrespecting him’ and ‘crushing his heart’ just days before her body was found at a music festival.

Aspiring grime artist Ceon Broughton recorded single ‘Duracell’ and is seen waving a large knife around a picturesque river and mountain setting wearing a chainmail headpiece.

The song, produced by London-based award-wining grime artist Skepta and directed by Louella’s brother Sam, features lyrics including ‘you crushed my heart and soul’, and ‘how could you disrespect me?’

In the break-up themed song he also sings ‘All eyes on you, you got the gist. But you mean nothing now, see now I’m p****d’.

Mr Broughton, 28, is said to have been in an on-off relationship with Miss Michie and her family believe the pair took an illegal substance while at Bestival in Dorset last weekend.

The artist, who goes by stage name CEONRPG, was arrested on suspicion of murder and supplying a Class A drug. He was released on bail pending further investigations.

The song was released on YouTube on September 5, days before Miss Michie was found dead on her 25th birthday in a woodland part of the festival site known as the Ambient Forrest.

Her family, including soap actor father John Michie, released a statement earlier this week claiming there was ‘no malice’ around the death and described it as a ‘horrific tragedy’.

The statement said: Our hearts are broken by this horrific tragedy. We do not believe there to have been any malice intended in Louella and Ceon’s weekend at Bestival.

‘They appear to have taken an illegal substance but we would appreciate cautious and sensitive reporting until the facts are known.

‘Louella inspired all who knew her with her joy of life. The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt tributes and messages.’

Miss Michie was described as looking ‘dazed and unsteady’ hours before her death by other festival revellers.

But friends of the couple insisted neither of them were drug users.

Mr Broughton’s family have also spoken of their shock at his arrest and said he had ‘never been violent’.

His grandmother Sylvia told MailOnline: ‘I am shocked at his arrest. He lived with me when he was around 22 years of age. He was a very polite – I have never known him to be aggressive or violent’.

Mrs Broughton said that she had never seen her grandson with any drugs – and would be shocked if he dealt them – adding she recognised Louella’s father John because she is a Holby City fan.

Ceon has been a fixture in the Michie family for the past year, appearing in family photographs including at the 60th birthday celebrations last October of Louella’s famous father.

They rekindled their relationship just three weeks prior to the festival after several years of an on-off relationship.

Mr Broughton was born in Lambeth in 1989 and lived in in a small terraced house in Wembley Park before his parents split up when he was a young boy.

His mother Tracey Sampson, 50, lives in Watford, Herts, and is a local government officer. She lives with his half-sister Cheyne Mitchell, 20.

Ceon’s father Dave Broughton, a 53-year-old technician, lives with his stepmother Annette in Bromley, Kent.

A post-mortem examination showed ‘no clear signs’ of an assault on Miss Michie’s body but tests showing if she had taken any illegal substances have not yet returned.

Police began looking for her when friends said she had disappeared after watching the Pet Shop Boys on Sunday night at Bestival, held on the Lulworth Estate on the Jurassic Coast.

Her parents arrived and were refused entry to the site by security but Miss Michie’s fully clothed body was found and Mr Broughton, 28, was arrested at the scene.
