Love Island Australia couple Mitch Eliot and Phoebe Spiller announce shock split – just months after he got a tattoo in honour of their love

Mitch Eliot and Phoebe Spiller have split after two years of dating.

The couple, who met and fell in love on Love Island Australia in 2022, shared break up posts to Instagram on Monday.

Despite explaining they still share a lot of love for one another, the personal trainer, 27, and fashion student, 26, said they ‘wanted different things’.

‘Unfortunately, me and Phoebe have decided after two years that we would go our separate ways,’ Mitch penned in his lengthy message.

‘Never thought I’d be one to make a break up post, but I feel like it’s needed so we can focus on getting through this and moving on.’

He went on to address Phoebe directly, praising her for showering him with love these last two years.

‘Phoebe, we fell in love the day we met and from then on you showed me what it’s like to be so bloody loved,’ he said.

‘You gave me an amazing two years and I can’t thank you enough for that. But we need time to grow as our own people.’

He finished his message by saying he ‘will always be backing’ Phoebe.

Meanwhile, his now ex girlfriend posted her own break-up message to Instagram at the exact same time.

‘I honestly never thought I’d be writing this, but unfortunately Mitch and I have separated,’ she wrote.

‘As you can imagine, I have been a wreck and not in a good head space as of lately, so I’d really appreciate it if you guys don’t ask questions or make assumptions.

‘As much as I wanted him to be my forever, we ended up wanting different things. Regardless of that though, I will always love him.

‘Thank you for everyone who has supported us from day 1.’

It comes after Mitch unveiled a new tattoo on his arm in December last year which he got in honour of his partner Phoebe.

The reality TV star took to Instagram at the time to share the surprise with his followers before filming Phoebe’s reaction.

The tattoo displayed the words ‘P.S. I love you’ on his forearm.

After displaying the ink to his followers, the video abruptly cut to Mitch presenting Phoebe with an empty box with his arms outstretched.

At first, Phoebe does not notice the tattoo on his arm, but when she does, she starts to cry tears of joy.

‘Do you love it?’ Mitch asked her, to which she responded, ‘I do,’ as she continued to react emotionally.
