Love Island Australia winners Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp SPLIT after five weeks

Love Island Australia winners Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp have officially split.

Five weeks after finding love on the Channel Nine dating show, the Perth model, 21, and the Canberra tradie, 22, have called it quits.

‘Obviously I’m heartbroken, it was a big shock to the system,’ Tayla told The Fix on Thursday.

‘I still respect him as a person and I just think he’s young and he’s made a massively bad decision, and didn’t really think of the consequences that maybe a girl would have fallen in love with him, which just happened to be me.

She added: ‘Hopefully that’s something he learned through this experience and he learns not to play with people’s emotions.’ 

It comes after Tayla told the Kyle and Jackie O show on Monday that they contemplated breaking up right after leaving the Spanish villa earlier this month. 

Tayla said she was heartbroken after discovering that Grant did in fact have a secret girlfriend while he was on the show and that ultimately he broke her trust.

‘[Dumping him] went though my mind, for sure, obviously finding that out was a big shock to the system and I was like, ‘Well, do you really love me?” she said.

‘We are trying to work through this, it’s obviously put a massive strain on our relationship. We’re trying to rebuild the trust.’

Tayla added that she even tried to contact Grant’s ‘secret girlfriend’ herself.

She said: ‘I found out this information and I was like, ‘OK, I actually feel sorry for this girl’ and I thought I should reach out to her. She didn’t want to talk to me, I totally understand that.’

Grant confessed that he did in fact have a secret girlfriend before flying to Spain, but insisted she knew he was going on the show.

‘She was well aware of what was happening – I haven’t spoken to her… we [spoke] briefly at the airport because Tayla wanted to speak to her,’ he said. ‘Her and Tayla don’t deserve this.’

Heartbroken: Grant’s ‘secret girlfriend’ is believed to be devastated after watching her boyfriend find love with someone else on national television

The photos were accompanied by the caption: ‘His girlfriend is my cousin! They live together and they were still 100% together when he went on the show.

‘He was just going in there to promote himself and his fitness brand Royal Apparel.’

Last week, Tayla and Grant bizarrely denied having sex on TV despite a condom wrapper being spotted on their bedroom floor and Grant boasting about their romp the morning after.

‘No, we put it on hold. Everyone was pretty convinced – I know!’ Tayla said, laughing off the evidence they did, in fact, have sex.
