Love Island bosses sign global superstar for the ‘biggest ever’ performance in the villa

Love Island bosses have signed a global superstar to perform for the islanders on Friday night’s show.

Each year, a top DJ or singer enters the villa for one night only to entertain the islanders while they party. 

Ne-Yo will be the guest of honour on this year’s series and will put on a showstopping performance for the contesants.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s one of the show’s biggest ever productions. He’ll perform all of his huge hits and there’s a spectacular, never seen before finale that will surprise fans and the cast.’

An ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline Ne-Yo will perform in the villa.

Ne-Yo is known for R&B hits including So Sick, Miss Indepdent, Closer and Give Me Everything.

The Grammy-award winning singer has had five number ones in the UK and has released nine albums over the course of his career.

The star is following in the footsteps of the likes of Craig David, Beckly Hill and Joel Corry who have previously performed in the villa. 

Ne-Yo He memorably appeared on series two of The Masked Singer UK where he was unmasked as Badger in the final, finishing in second place to Joss Stone.

The hitmaker previously told how he kept it a secret fro his family, telling Heart Radio: ‘I kept it from them because I thought it’d be cool to see if they actually knew it was me.

‘The only person who caught it was my four-year-old son, he said: ‘That bear sounds like daddy!’

‘My mum called me, she was watching, and she said: ‘Shaffer caught you!’, I was like: ‘What!”

Love Island continues on Friday at 9pm on ITV2.
