Love Island’s Hayley Hughes is set to appear on BBC2’s Daily Politics to discuss Brexit on Friday, following her admission she did not know what the term meant.

The 21-year-old Liverpudlian model, who will appear at 12.30pm, stunned viewers when a conversation with her co-stars about Brexit, which saw Hayley interject: ‘What’s that? I don’t have a clue. So does that mean we won’t have any trees?’

Insiders told MailOnline: ‘Hayley is like many young people who doesn’t’ know about Brexit and the impact it could have on her life. She is going to be questioning a Brexit expert in Brussels over the important questions relating to the matter’.

Yet it was host Piers Morgan’s lack of knowledge which garnered red faces when he tried to probe Hayley on Pythagoras’ theorem – only to get the answer wrong himself.

The TV presenter, who has been extremely vocal in his disdain for the ITV2 dating show, was joined by Hayley, Kendall Rae-Knight and Charlie Frederick when he made his gaffe while seemingly mocking the stars of the show.

In hilarious scenes, he said to the Liverpool-born beauty: ‘Do you know Pythagoras’ theorem to the nearest decimal place?’ He said: ‘I do actually… 3.147’ after he was grilled by his co-star Susanna Reid about whether he knew the answer.

Off-camera, a crew member bellowed: ‘That’s pi’, shortly before he appeared mortified and a clearly overjoyed Susanna said: ‘Pythagoras is a triangle!…
