Love Island fans brand Ron a ‘game player’ after he tries to convince Tom to recouple

Love Island fans branded Ron Hall a ‘game player’ on Thursday night after he tried to convince Tom Clare to recouple with a new Casa Amor girl.

The footballer admitted that he was ‘torn’ between two girls during the episode after he was torn away from partner Samie Elishi, being joined by a new group of girls instead.

During the time apart, Tom has grown close to new arrival Lydia Karakyriakou and even shared a kiss with the Scottish beauty during Wednesday’s episode.

But offering some advice, Ron told him he should recouple with Lydia – saying he found it ‘hard to believe’ that Sammie won’t do the same.

Responding, Tom said that if he chose Sammie, he’d rather stick with her, even if it meant she came back with another boy.

Acting seemingly tactically, Ron then told him he could still bring Lydia back, even if it meant sacking her off after.

Taking to Twitter as the episode aired, fans were not impressed with Ron’s advice, labelling him a ‘game player’.

One fan said: ‘Ron planting seeds in the other lads heads so he can look like a good somebody’.

‘Why is Ron tryna assume how Sammie is acting? This big game player’, another said.

Taking the same stance, another viewer said: ‘If I’m honest Ron is playing a MASSIVE game right now. He’s tryna push the boys to do a madness cos he wants to come out looking the best.’

Meanwhile, another viewer blamed the fact that Ron has been fairly overlooked in the villa following Lana’s brief departure.

They said: ‘Not Ron stirring the pot cos no casa girl has bothered to even look at him’.

It comes after Tom admitted to Lydia that he was conflicted between recoupling with her or sticking with Samie – pondering who to go for.

‘There’s going to be some broken hearts,’ declares fellow islander Casey O’Gorman as news of the recoupling rocks both villas.

Chatting with Lydia about his feelings for her and Samie during the episode, Tom will admit: ‘I really don’t know.’

‘I can tell,’ replies the influencer, as he continues: ‘There’s qualities in you and Samie that I look for in a girlfriend’.

The pair were seen sharing a kiss on the terrace during Wednesday evening’s episode – which Tom continued ‘felt right’.

‘Whatever happens, you’ve done what’s right for you,’ assures Lydia.

Sitting around the firepit, Tom admits: ‘It’s been tough. It has tested me, I can’t lie.’

And as Casey weighs up his options during the day too, he tells romantic interst Cynthia: ‘I think for us boys, no matter what decisions we make, someone’s always going to be upset. There’s going to be some broken hearts.’

Over in Casa Amor, it appears Samie’s decision could be slightly easier.

But the flame appears to have burned out between the pair as Samie admitted she had ‘the ick’ from Ryan during Wednesday’s episode.

On the flip side, things were heating up for Tom as he got closer to Lydia, pulling her for a chat on the terrace.

The pair shared a kiss during the conversation as she left the sportsman hot under the collar while he weighed up his connection with both her and Samie.

Tom and Lydia also got close in bed later on as they shared a cuddle, while Samie and Ryan were in bed together, but remained firmly apart while getting some shut eye.

Thursday will see all of the islanders back together as Samie and the other girls return from Casa Amor.

But who will remain loyal and stick, and who will have their head turned and twist?
