Love Island runner-up Tommy Fury’s cousin is fighting for life in intensive care after being stabbed.

Peter Fury Jnr, 28, was attacked outside The Bubble Room in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, at around 12.20pm on Sunday.

Tommy was not given the news until after the final, in which he came in second place with Molly-Mae Hague, reports the Sun.

Two people – a 30-year-old man and a woman, 25, have been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of assault.

Peter’s father told the Sun: ‘He is lucky to be alive. He went through a four-hour operation. There were stab wounds all down the right side of his body, on his chest and arm and in the middle of his abdomen.’

A second man was also stabbed outside the nightclub following a fight.

Peter Jnr received help from bar staff who called an ambulance, but the second man took himself to hospital.

A spokesperson for Cheshire police said: ‘Officers found a 28-year-old man had been stabbed twice by two offenders. A second man, 28, was also stabbed. He had left the scene and taken himself to hospital.

‘His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Two people from Derby were subsequently arrested.’

The bar where Peter Jnr was stabbed hit the headlines two years ago after Wayne Rooney spent a ‘whirlwind night’ with single mother Laura Simpson there.

After their night out, the former England captain was charged with drink driving for taking Miss Simpson home.

At the time, the Everton star’s pregnant wife Coleen was on holiday in Mallorca while he was partying near their £6million home.

Tommy was not given the news until after the final, in which he came in second place with Molly-Mae Hague

Boxer Tommy and ‘influencer’ Molly-Mae were widely considered to be the favourites to scoop the £50k prize.

They were coupled up the longest of all the final couples and have mostly been exclusive to one another while in the villa.

They are also the only boyfriend/girlfriend pairing and have said ‘I love you’ to each other.

But Molly-Mae was accused of being ‘fake’ after fans accused her of crying ‘crocodile tears’ during Tommy Fury’s emotional speech during the last night in the villa.

When asked about being ‘fake’ by Caroline Flack she hit back at the claims and said: ‘I know he knows how I feel, he knows how I feel, the Islanders know.

‘I don’t care what anyone thinks. I love him. It does frustrate me. I genuinely can’t see anything come between them.’
