Love Island’s Faye Winter hits back at stars ‘blaming’ unaired scenes

Love Island’s Faye Winter has hit back at former stars ‘blaming’ unaired scenes for their portrayal on the show.

The reality star,  26, said about her previous villa-mates in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, telling the publication: ‘You still did those things… You are still that person and those things still left your mouth’.

Faye’s candid comments come after a few of the show’s former stars have claimed producers manipulated their portrayal for viewers by editing certain scenes.

Faye said: ‘This gets to me because regardless of which scenes were aired, you still did those things… You are still that person and those things still left your mouth.

‘Own it and move on. If you’ve got to apologise, apologise. If you’ve got to live up to it, live up to it. But don’t start blaming unaired scenes for that.’

Faye is no stranger to an apology, having owned up to her behaviour on the ITV show after her expletive rant towards her now-boyfriend, Teddy Soares.

It appeared in the interview that the former lettings manager was indirectly addressing one of her former co-stars, Jake Cornish, who recently told MailOnline he believed ITV manipulated scenes to destroy his relationship with ex Liberty Poole to depict him as the series’ ‘bad guy’ – sparking terrifying death threats.

Unlike Jake and Liberty, Faye and her other half Teddy were able to put their differences aside and move forward in their relationship, telling the publication: ‘He is amazing and we’re going from strength to strength.’

‘Life’s been mad. I don’t feel like I’ve had two minutes with my feet on the ground. It’s been a crazy rollercoaster, but one I’ve definitely enjoyed. Things with Teddy are incredible. Honestly, I can’t fault the man. He is amazing and we’re going from strength to strength.’

She continued: ‘It’s been very stressful, but it hasn’t affected us at all. It’s been stressful because I’d never been to London, there’s been lots going on.

‘I haven’t been able to go home to see friends and family much, even driving in and around London… It’s been stressful, but it hasn’t affected me and him, so you know you’re onto a good one when that happens.

‘Not even any car journey arguments – that’s actually mad, isn’t it?’

She even revealed her plans to tie the knot with him one day, saying: ‘We’re getting married!’

She recently told Capital XTRA’s Will Njobvu that they are first looking for a property to move in together.

Despite facing backlash herself along with the reality show receiving a record 25,000 Ofcom complaints for her behaviour, she still advised to future contestants to ‘stay true to yourself, even if it’s the wrong way to go about things.’

She said: ‘My advice would be, stay true to yourself. Even if it’s the wrong way to go about things. Never try to play up to cameras, you will get found out.

‘And three, have the time of your life. Enjoy every moment of it – there will be bits of it you think, ‘I don’t want to do that’ and it will really put you outside of your comfort zone.’

She left readers with her thoughts: ‘But once you’ve done it, you feel incredible and it’s really not as bad as you thought it was going to be in the first place.’
