Love Island narrator Iain Stirling has revealed the ITV show has in the past had secret ‘dry runs’ that viewers never got to see, before the real singeltons arrived.

The comedian, 36, explained how bosses invited participants to the iconic villa for three-days, that would never be televised, in order for crew to practice filming.

Speaking on the So Bad it’s Good podcast Iain said that ‘crazy’ things occurred with lots of romping, when the guests realised they didn’t have to worry about their shenanigans being shown on TV.

Saying: ‘We’ve had dry runs of Love Island when we put people who aren’t going into the show.

‘We literally have a three-day practice where people go in and they’re in Love Island but it’s not on telly. It’s sort of crazy, it’s mad’.

Iain, who is married to former host Laura Whitmore, continued: ‘And if you think people going on the show get up to no good,’

‘Imagine what they do if they know it’s not televised’.

Before quipping: ‘Let’s say it’s not that dry in some cases.’

Iain previously revealed a very surprising fact that fans wouldn’t know about the show in a huge behind-the-scenes secret.

He provides his nightly commentary for the ITV show which is filmed on the sunny island of Mallorca.

So fans might expect that he jets out to the destination for the job but unexpectedly that isn’t the case.

Taking to his Instagram Iain did a ‘day in the life’ video where he revealed that he actually records his voice over from the spare room of his London home.

After a trip to the gym and brunch with his wife he headed up to the mini studio  where he has a huge computer and software set up.

He said: 'We literally have a three-day practice where people go in and they're in Love Island but it's not on telly. It's sort of crazy, it's mad'

He also filmed his pal on Zoom who he writes the show with as well as all of his high-tech equipment.

Fans were shocked to see that he worked from home, as one wrote: ‘Are you not in Mallorca for this season then?’

Another said: ‘Home set up is legit!’, as another wrote: ‘You don’t even get to do all this in the sunshine!’
