Love Island’s Liam and Millie grimace during VERY awkward exchange with Lillie at reunion show

Love Island winner Liam and Millie were reunited with the Welsh bricklayer’s former Casa Amor flame Lillie on Sunday’s reunion show.

The situation quickly turned awkward, with Lillie insisting Millie and her boyfriend are ‘a picture perfect couple’ after Millie was made to watch uncomfortable footage of the moment she found out Lillie and Liam had shared a kiss.

Trying to smooth over the situation as the trio were interviewed by host Laura Whitmore, Liam told Lillie: ‘You’re a nice person, I’m a nice person. We can be friends, how’s that?’ while Millie sat in silence.

In July, Millie declared she was ‘over the moon’ to be reunited with Liam after he spent four days in Casa Amor.

However in a shock twist just moments later, new girl Lillie appeared at the fire pit and explained she’d shared kisses outside of challenges and a bed with the hunk during the ‘lads holiday’.

Millie quickly slammed her partner, saying: ‘F**k off, are you joking? Kissing outside a challenge? That’s f*****g disgusting.’

Elsewhere on Sunday’s reunion episode, Millie admitted ‘it’s been mad’ since leaving the villa, adding: ‘It’s been crazy. We’ve not stopped.’

Laura also asked Lillie about recent photos that showed her and footballer Jack Grealish chatting at a star-studded party after he liked a series of her bikini snaps.

‘Jack Grealish, what’s going on?’ Laura asked the blonde beauty.

Laughing awkwardly, Lillie replied: ‘Nothing.’

Explaining that she and Aaron had decided not to pursue their romance outside the villa, Lucinda insisted the decision was mutual, with Aaron adding: ‘We had a conversation [and asked] is it going to work?’

Revealing that they had decided it wouldn’t, he added: ‘We cut it.’

Hugo also touched upon his inability to find love in the villa.

He caused a stir with his unsuccessful attempts to find love in the villa, famously friendzoning several interested ladies.

While Jake was unable to appear on the reunion show as he was ‘feeling unwell’, he did reunite with ex Liberty in a pre-recorded London date.

Sipping on cocktails while overlooking the capital, the water engineer told the former Nando’s waitress that even if they hadn’t broken up, a relationship wouldn’t work as he’s ‘too busy’.

‘Even if we were together, it wouldn’t work because I’m so busy,’ he told a slightly bemused Liberty.

Elsewhere, it was revealed that Kaz and Tyler had decided to take their relationship to the next level, with the latter asking the former to be his girlfriend during a group date with their respective family members.

After having fun together at a bowling alley, Tyler asked his partner: ‘Kaz will you be my girlfriend?’

A delighted Kaz accepted.

It comes after viewing figures for the final were revealed with Liam and Millie scoring an impressive 42.02% of the public’s votes, made via the show’s mobile app, while Chloe and Toby, who placed second, earned 30.85% of votes.

Faye and Teddy saw 14.85% of users voting for them, landing them in third place. Kaz and Tyler, who were the first of the four finalists to be booted from the villa, received 12.27% of the votes.

Love Island’s voting system has faced criticism this year, with viewers as well as previous contestants branding it ‘pointless’.

The series saw a string of public votes take place, but the final decision as to who leaves the villa was always down to the contestants – resulting in them opting to save their friends.

Earlier in August, contestants Abi, Mary, Kaz, Dale, Tyler and Jake were voted the least popular by the public, with host Laura Whitmore announcing that the safe islanders would decide which two would be dumped.

Amber Gill – who won the show in 2019 – took to Twitter to ask why this was the case, penning: ‘Why would they leave the decision to the islanders AGAIN makes it too obvious!’

'Why bother voting?' Viewers of Love Island - including previous two winners [L-R] Amber Gill and Paige Turley - branded the show's voting system 'pointless'

Paige Turley, the reigning champion, tweeted: 'Why allow the public to vote yet continually let the islanders decide who stays?'

2018 contestant Samira Mighty chimed in with: ‘I don’t see the point of a public vote ???? When they always just ask the islanders to choice … like every time!!! I’m shook tbh!’

The final of this year’s Love Island aired on ITV2 saw Liam and Millie’s very rocky journey end in glee as they won £50k, and split the money between them, with Liam asking Millie to be his official girlfriend during their live exit interview.
