Love Island’s Maxwell Samuda fuels rumours of a split from Olivia Hawkins as he jets off to sunny Mexico while she parties in London

They departed the Love Island villa as a couple last month just before the final in a brutal dumping.

But Maxwell Samuda and Olivia Hawkins have left fans wondering if they have parted ways this week.

The student, 23, fuelled rumours of a split on Tuesday as he jetted off to Mexico for a holiday without his other half, 27, who remained in London.

It’s not the first time the new couple have been subject to break-up rumours, after they sent the rumour mill spinning last week while spending time apart.

But Olivia firmly shut down the claims and confirmed that they were going strong, before the duo put on a united front over the weekend at the Love Island reunion show.

Posting to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Maxwell shared snaps from the sunnier Mexico climate as he confirmed that he was enjoying time away with a pal.

Firmly in holiday mode, he and pal Kyle appeared to be enjoying some cocktails as they beamed for a snap at a Bubba Gump restaurant.

‘Mi amigooooo,’ wrote Maxwell over the sunny snap, as he also shared some of the scenery from city Cancun.

While Olivia has also been active on her own social media as she enjoyed a night out to watch Chris Brown at London’s O2 earlier this week.

She was joined by former Love Island stars from previous seasons, including Joanna Chimonides and Arabella Chi.

Olivia and Maxwell appeared to confirm that things were going well between them over the weekend as they attended the live Love Island reunion show together.

While the couple also shut down any rumours of a split last week, after many questioned whether they were still together as they appeared to be spending time apart.

Explaining that they were simply spending time with family, Olivia told OK! that she and Maxwell had ‘absolutely not’ split and she had gone home for a ‘bit of normality’ with her family.

Since leaving the villa, Olivia has spoken out about being branded the ‘villain’ during her stint on the reality show.

Olivia came under fire during her time on the show with viewers claiming ‘the witch is finally gone’ after she was voted out.

She was also branded the ‘villa schemer’ during drama filled scenes as she clashed with fellow contestants.

Speaking last week in an interview with The Sun, she explained: ‘I’ve got a lot of strong people around me, thankfully. It has been hard on me. There’s only so much I can take.’

She added: ‘When people meet me they will see the real me, I’m definitely not a villain. Now I’m out of the villa I’m looking forward to people seeing my fun side and my big heart.
