He’s been causing a stir on the Love Island scene. 

And Scott van-der-Sluis took to Instagram to set rumours straight on his bombshell US Love Island entrance. 

The 22-year-old shocked viewers last week as he entered the US version of the show only weeks after leaving the UK villa, with some viewers branding him a ‘game player’. 

The situation had caused some understandable confusion amongst fans due to the reconciliation between Scott and his love interest Catherin Agbaje’s taking place only days before he entered the US show.

However, during an Instagram Q&A hosted by Scott’s friend, Dan Hawkins and his sister Steph, a fan asked ‘when did he get this offer, as so many rumours?’

The answer provided clarity to the situation, it said: ‘There’s been a lot of rumours circulating but Scott got asked a few days after leaving the UK villa and had to make a decision with 24 hours.

‘So by the time of the reunion it was signed and sealed, and all other islanders were aware and supportive of his decision’. 

Fellow Islanders have shared their support in Scott’s decision, such as this years winner Sammy Root, he told his TikTok followers: ‘You’ve got to rate it. 

‘He’s working hard.’ 

Despite often rubbing up the wrong way with each other, even Kady McDermott was supportive and wished Scott good luck in finding love in the show. 

She told her followers ‘you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do but, people say and think what they want about me but one thing is that I never lie. 

‘I never lie.’

When Scott entered the villa he was immediately recognised from the UK show as he met his first date Kassy.

Fans couldn’t help but share their shock over Scott’s arrival in the villa.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: ‘What in the multiverse,’ while another said: ‘No wayyyyyyyy.’

Another shared their disapproval at the huge twist as they fumed: ‘This is a joke! Get Scott out of this villa.’ 

Other fans shared their upset that Scott has not rekindled his romance with Catherine, as one said: ‘I thought him and Catherine were starting to rekindle.’
