Body confidence: X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has revealed her journey to body confidence, sharing a look at her impressive gym routine
‘I used to think going to the gym was lifting the heaviest weights I possibly could or running further than anyone else,’ Lucy mused.
‘I never understood when people had the motivation to go to the gym everyday or move their bodies until I started doing it myself.’
‘I learnt that doing things that made me feel good, even doing those things when I felt bad was the key to consistency and creating a habit.’
‘When it comes to training I’m not always in the mood and feel like doing it but I still show up everyday. I am better when I do things I don’t want to do, after all it’s NEVER too bad!
The thing about this kind of journey is that you really have no idea where the destination is.’
A few days later Lucy posed for a mirror selfie in a crop top and high-waisted trousers as she admitted ‘I’ve had weirdly good body image this week. No explanation for it but I’m feeling it.’
‘I’m feeling such contentment and fulfilment in my life at the moment, using my brain every day, becoming a better writer, a better fighter and a better listener,
‘I am finally starting (I hope) to implement that the way my body looks has very little to do with those things.’

‘My body is functional and I am healthy. I am smart as f**k! I’ve known that I needed to focus more on these things for ages, and I have been, but it’s taken LITERALLY YEARS to feel my brain settling into it.’
‘Body image is the thing that has taken me the longest to grasp, but we might be finally making some headway here. I FRIKKIN HOPE SO. ‘
Last year Lucy admitted that she made the mistake of eating just ‘500 calories a day’ at the start of her weight loss journey.
Lucy, who has trained as a personal trainer and launched her fitness brand Fully Rewired, admitted that 500 calories ‘isn’t enough for an adult human being’.
Since her weight loss, the singer decided to have a boob job and has said that her new 34D assets have made her feel ‘absolutely incredible’ after they previously looked like ‘two snooker balls in a sock.’
Lucy said that she wants to be ‘totally transparent’ as to what happens when you lose weight, adding that you get ‘loose skin’ and your ‘boobs become empty bags of skin’.
The star admitted that she has ‘loose skin’ on her tummy and arms, adding that it is the one thing you can’t change without surgery.
