Luka Doncic has his beer confiscated by Mavericks VP as he celebrated reaching the NBA Finals with his dad

Luka Doncic wasn’t allowed to celebrate his Dallas Mavericks team getting through to the NBA Finals for too long on Thursday night.

The Slovenian guided the Mavericks past the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference semi-finals – setting up a showdown with the Boston Celtics.

But Doncic, who was unwinding with a beer alongside his dad Sasa in the bowels of the Target Center, had his drink confiscated by Mavericks VP Michael Finley.

Footage shows the team executive grab Doncic’s can as the 25-year-old embraces another team official.

But then Finley just walks away with it and refuses to give it back – leaving Doncic surprised.

Doncic had himself a field day with the Timberwolves defense – dropping some savage taunts and 36 points in his team’s Game Five victory.

Dallas built up an insurmountable 69-40 halftime lead that no one on Minnesota had any hope of coming back from.

The Mavericks reached the Finals for the first time since 2011 and only the third time in team history.

Doncic was dominant throughout the night and he let the crowd, which included rap star Snoop Dogg, know it.

TV cameras caught him screaming ‘Yeah, who’s crying motherf***er’ to someone in the audience.

Kyrie Irving also scored 36 points for the Mavericks, who built a 29-point halftime lead on 61 per cent shooting to deflate the once-energized crowd before most fans got up for their first snack break.

The Mavs went up by as much as 36 in the third quarter, all the while keeping the Timberwolves offense all out of whack.

The Mavs, who had the fifth seed in the West, have a full week to rest before the NBA Finals begin in Boston on June 6. It will be the franchise’s first appearance since winning the championship in 2011.

The Celtics will have had 10 days between games after sweeping Indiana in the Eastern Conference finals.
