Country music singer Luke Bryan has sparked a social media backlash after gifting his wife two baby kangaroos for Christmas.
The 41-year-old crooner has been slammed on Instagram for his controversial gift, which has been labelled ‘cruel’ and unfair to the young marsupials.
‘Young kangaroos are highly anxious animals and often don’t last long in the hands of people who aren’t trained animal carers,’ one concerned commenter wrote on Luke’s Instagram account.

On Wednesday, Luke shared a photo of the two kangaroos he had gifted wife Caroline Boyer relaxing by the fireplace.
While several fans posted gushing comments cooing over the cute new additions, others took issue with keeping the kangaroos inside and their diapers.

On Monday, Luke shared a clip to Instagram in which he presented his wife Caroline with the pair of baby kangaroos named Margo and Todd.
In the clip, the country vocalist narrated as he approached his spouse – who was blindfolded seated in a couch – with the marsupials in a bag.
‘I got you two designer purses,’ the Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day crooner, clad in Christmas-themed pajamas, told his 38-year-old wife, who was shocked at her holiday windfall.

‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’ she said as she opened the bag to reveal the kangaroos. ‘Where did you get these?’
She later took to Instagram with a picture of the baby kangaroos, writing, ‘2 Live Roo and Roo Tang Clan are living their best life.’
Their ‘real names are Margo and Todd,’ after the snooty neighbors played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Nicolas Todd in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Caroline explained.
She added that duo – pictured adorably in diapers in front of a fireplace – was ‘adjusting perfectly’ and ‘beyond sweet and precious,’ adding the hashtags, ‘#brettsbarn,’ ‘#christmasvacation’ and ‘#margoandtodd.’
