Luke Littler apparently posted on Snapchat just ten minutes before heading out in front of the masses for the World Darts Championship final.
A screenshot has emerged from what looks like Littler’s Snapchat account showing the darts board where he made his final preparations before heading out at Ally Pally.
In the post, Littler wrote: ‘Too many messages out there see you in 10 mins.’
With a world title and £500,000 on the line, many elite sportspeople would swear by detaching from social media and focusing fully on the task at hand.
But Littler has proven himself to be made of different gravy in this tournament, cutting an astonishingly relaxed and nonchalant figure in the face of fame and fortune.
Fans were disbelieving on social media, with one writing: ‘As if he just casually puts stuff on his story 10 minutes before a world final,’ adding a laughing emoji for good measure.
The pressure and expectation of fans worldwide seemed to rest easily on his shoulders.
Littler became the youngest-ever darts player to reach the world final after beating 2018 champion Rob Cross in the semi-finals.
