Luke Littler’s dad is stunned by his 16-year-old son’s ‘crazy’ win over Raymond van Barneveld at World Championships and says ‘he could go all the way!’

Luke Littler’s dad has expressed his disbelief at his son’s victory over Raymond van Barneveld at the PDC World Championships.

16-year-old Littler continued his remarkable run at the tournament as he won 4-1 to secure his place in the quarter-finals.

Littler is now guaranteed to win at least £50,000 and his father believes that he is capable of going all the way. 

Littler’s dad Anthony told Sky Sports: ‘I can’t believe it. He just beat a legend. I don’t know what to say.

‘He used to watch Barney when he was three and he’s just beat him – it’s crazy!

‘On his day he could do [go all the way]. He’s got a good a chance as anyone.’ 

Prior to beating van Barneveld, Littler had managed to overcome Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding and Matt Campbell.

Next up for Littler will be a clash against Brendan Dolan, who managed to get the better of Gary Anderson.

Littler believes that he is capable of success but stated that at present he is only focusing on beating Dolan.

He said: ‘It’s unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. I’ve done it. I fancy myself. I do fancy myself. Let’s focus on Brendan.’

Ahead of his clash against van Barneveld, Littler shared a clip of himself imitating the Dutchman when he was just three years old.
