Macaulay Culkin is ‘very protective’ over Paris Jackson

Macaulay Culkin has his goddaughter Paris Jackson’s back.

The 37-year-old actor on Monday told Marc Maron’s WTF podcast that he’s ‘close with Paris,’ and he’s vigilant in defense of the 19-year-old daughter of his late friend, Michael Jackson.

‘I’m going to warn you now, I am very protective of her so just look out,’ said the actor, who played Kevin McCallister in the 1990 mega-hit Home Alone. ‘I am a very open book when it comes to things but like with her, she is beloved by me.’

Maron made clear he was not fishing for ‘dirt’ about Paris, a regular focal on entertainment news.

‘I’m just letting you know if we want to start going down that road it’s going to be a dead-end, you know, but I mean that in the fact that I love her so much,’ said the Manhattan native.

Macaulay kept it short when asked how Paris is doing, responding that ‘she’s tall, and beautiful and smart – it’s great.’

Macaulay and Paris have frequently been seen bonding on social media, even getting matching tattoos of spoons last summer.

In the chat, Macaulay opened up on his broken relationship with his father Kit, calling him ‘mentally and physically’ abusive and adding that the father would threaten him, ‘Do good or I’ll hit you.’

Macaulay said that he hasn’t spoken with Kit for about 25 years. He said that Kit – a one-time actor who drew notoriety in the press in the 1990s as an omnipresent stage dad – was intensely ‘jealous’ of his success.

‘Everything he tried to do in life, I excelled at before I was 10-years-old,’ said Macaulay, who was in films such as The Good Son, Uncle Buck and My Girl. ‘He was a bad man, he was a bad man … I could show you the scars if I wanted to.’

Macaulay said ‘one of the best things that ever happened’ in his life was the 1994 separation of his parents, paving the path that allowed him ‘to actually walk away from the business,’ and remove himself from the role of being the family’s breadwinner.

‘I even wanted to take a break for a while and eventually I was like, “I’m done guys, hope you all made your money because there is no more coming from me.”‘

Kit, who suffered a stroke four years back, spoke with DailyMail.com two years ago at his Grant’s Pass, Oregon home, saying of Macaulay, ‘I don’t consider him a son anymore.’

On a lighter note, Macaulay opened up on alternating between homes in New York City and France since 2014. He said, ‘I’ve been living in Paris the last, like, four years – and my French is still terrible,’ adding that he frequently chats with expats in cafes.

Macaulay gushed over the city’s culinary superiority in a colorful manner, expressing how Parisian cuisine is consistently fresh – and agreeable with his digestive system.

‘I live well out there – honestly, I’ve never s*** better in my life out there, my bowels enjoy being out there,’ he said. ‘You eat well there!’
