The man who shot a 14-year-old dead in a middle school hallway in 2010 has been ordered to pay the mother of his victim $1million through a civil lawsuit.
Hammad Memon was ordered to pay the fine plus any court costs to Towanda Moore, whose son Todd Brown was shot in the back of the head by Memon, who was one of his classmates at the time, according to a September 7 ruling.
Memon is currently serving a 30-year sentence for murdering the boy, who was a ninth grader at Discovery Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin. The new order was first reported today by WAFF-48.

Memon was ordered to pay the fine to Brown’s mother, Towanda Moore (pictured), who originally also filed the lawsuit against multiple school officials before dropping it to just include Memon’s name
Brown was gunned down in a crowded hallway on February 5, 2010, by Memon, who was just 14 at the time.
Memon pleaded guilty to the crime in 2013.
He had been ordered to stand trial as an adult when he was charged in July 2010. Just a few months before he was set to stand trial he and his mother allegedly attempted to leave the country.
He was arrested along with his mother and younger sister at a Dallas bus station once a police officer realized they had fled their home in Madison.
Memon was out of jail on bond at the time, in the custody of his family.
His father, Dr Iqbal Memon, and his mother Safia Memon were both charged with hindering prosecution as a result. Both pleaded guilty and served probation.

The civil lawsuit originally named the Madison Board of Education, the superintendent, the former principal, Memon and his parents, but Brown’s family eventually dropped all school officials from the lawsuit.
‘The Court finds that Plaintiff is entitled to an award of punitive damages for her claims against Defendant Hammed Memon for the wrongful death of Plaintiff’s decedent,’ Todd Brown, the decision reads.
Memon is currently serving his time at Stanton Correctional Center, and his earliest opportunity to apply for parole will be in December 2026.
