Madonna, 65, confirms historic FREE concert in Brazil as final stop on her Celebration tour after weeks of rumors: ‘A thank you to incredible fans’

After months of performing around the world, Madonna is preparing for a massive finale to her Celebration Tour.

The Grammy Award winner, 65, announced on Monday that her ‘biggest show yet’ will be a free concert on May 4 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

‘The celebration spanning four decades of music will culminate with a free event on May 4th at Copacabana Beach as a thank you to her incredible fans from around the world,’ reads the announcement on her website.

Hosted at Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, the concert will be broadcast live on TV Globo.

There will be no tickets, and admission will happen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Marking her first show in Brazil since 2012, Madonna will make her return with Bob the Drag Queen, who has accompanied her throughout the Celebration Tour.

Performing her most beloved hits from her decades-spanning career, Madonna kicked off the tour on October 14 in London.

Madonna previously had to scale back the seven-month tour after she was hospitalized and intubated over a bacterial infection last June.

The Madame X artist later revealed that she was in an induced coma for 48 hours after suffering lung and kidney failure.

During her first Celebration Tour stop in London, Madonna admitted onstage that she ‘didn’t think I’d make it’ during the stint, during which she ‘forgot five days’ of her life.

‘I didn’t think I would make it, and neither did my doctors,’ she said. ‘That’s why I woke up with all of my children sitting around me.’

‘I forgot five days of my life, or my death, I don’t really know where I was. But the angels were protecting me,’ she continued. ‘And my children were there. And my children always save me, every time.’

Madonna added, ‘If you want to know how I pulled through and how I survived, I thought, I have got to be there for my children. I have to survive for them.’

Health scares aside, Madonna has also been met with lawsuits from fans during the Celebration Tour, after her NYC shows started two hours late.

Madonna’s legal team and Live Nation responded to the lawsuit in TMZ. ‘Madonna just completed and sold out her 2023 Celebration Tour in Europe – which received rave reviews,’ they said.

‘The shows opened in North America at Barclays in Brooklyn as planned, with the exception of a technical issue December 13th during soundcheck.’

‘This caused a delay that was well documented in press reports at the time. We intend to defend this case vigorously,’ they added.

Madonna’s Celebration Tour continues Monday with a second night in Dallas, before heading onto Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Austin and Mexico City.
