Madonna makes nearly $4 million on sale of Hidden Hills mansion that she purchased from The Weeknd two years ago
Madonna has made nearly $4 million from a collaboration with The Weeknd, and she didn’t have to sing a note.
The Material Girl, 64, has sold the Hidden Hills, California mansion she purchased in 2021 from the Canadian hitmaker, 33, for $23 million, about $3.7 more than the $19.3 million she paid for the abode.
The Vogue songstress had put the luxe property on the market for $26 million, TMZ reported Monday, before lowering the asking price to $23.5 million.
Amid negotiations with the eventual buyer – Korean crypto billionaire Kim Hyoung-nyon – Madonna took another $500,000 off her asking price, coming to the $23 million sale price both sides agreed to.
The Like A Virgin singer conducted the sale through The Beverly Hills Estates’ Trevor Wright.

The estate in the luxe locale, which sits north of Calabasas and west of the San Fernando Valley, is more than 12,500 square feet, sprawled across three acres.
The home has nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms and includes amenities such as a saltwater pool, movie theater, wine cellar, library and musical lounge.
According to a 2022 Forbes profile, Kim Hyoung-nyon has a net worth of $1.95 billion from his business endeavors as the cofounder and executive vice president for the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Dunamu.
The Weeknd recently worked with Madonna on the song Popular, which is featured in his new HBO series The Idol. Playboi Carti was also featured on the track.
Speaking with Zane Lowe of Apple Music earlier this month, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, expressed an interest in further working with Madonna.
‘I mean, the thing is, I’ve always wanted to work with her,’ he said. ‘I’ve always wanted to write and produce a Madonna album … well, co-produce with her, of course … because she’s a visionary and she has such a singular vision.’
He added: ‘I just want to come into her world and create a classic Madonna album. That was always my dream. So this can be … hopefully this is the appetizer for that.’

In the interview, The Weeknd said he had ‘been producing’ the track Popular ‘for a while’ as a complement to the new show he created with Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson.
‘And then Madonna, Madge,’ he said, describing her as ‘the ultimate pop star.’
He added, ‘She’s the ultimate co-sign for this song, for this album, and for this TV show. And you’ll hear more of her in the show as well too.’
