Maeva D’Ascanio reveals she had to rush baby son to A&E amid a breathing scare

Made In Chelsea stars Maeva D’Ascanio and James Taylor welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Beau Christian Taylor, just last month. 

And on Tuesday, Maeva, 30, revealed the pair had to rush Beau to hospital amid a breathing scare. 

The reality star cradled her baby in her arms in one sweet picture as she admitted it is ‘hard to be a parent,’ before assuring her followers that he’s now fine. 

Maeva said Beau was creating mucus after being born via a C-section, so his breathing sounded funny. 

She then shared some more adorable pictures of her tiny tot at home and thanked fans for their well wishes. 

‘Hard to be a parent. Today I had a such big stress (sic),’ her post began.

‘Thank you so much for your messages, it’s so reassuring to see that many parents are experiencing this,’ she wrote

‘We went to A&E, because of Beau’s breathing, turns out he is all good, C section babies can swallow fluids and create mucus and when they breathe they can make some weird noises.’

She added: ‘It takes some time to get rid of it and also Beau snores like his mother apparently so. Thank you so much for your messages, it’s so reassuring to see that many parents are experiencing this.’ 

In one picture, fiancé James, 27, holds Beau on his chest and in another, the pair kiss their tiny tot as they pose in front of the Christmas tree. 

‘We love you little man,’ she wrote in the caption.

The pair welcomed Beau just last month.

They announced the happy news with a sweet Instagram video as the new-mum cradled the precious newborn in her arms.

They also shared snaps from the hospital as well as the moment James first met his son, with Maeva gushing he would make the ‘best daddy ever’.

They wrapped the bundle of joy in a fluffy white towel and kept his head warm with a knitted orange hat.

She wrote: ‘Welcoming the last 9 months and 11 days into our lives this morning was everything and more than we could have ever hoped for’.

‘I’m so happy I’ve now met you my little roast. @jamestaylorldn is going to be the best daddy ever’.

‘Being induced on Sunday and trying to achieve a virginal birth from the outset wasn’t meant to be. We both decided along with the amazing doctors at the Rosie that a C section was the safest option to bring our boy to us’.

‘On Wednesday morning 30/11/2022 Beau Christian Taylor joined our growing family (9lbs 9oz!)’.

Radiant: Maeva appeared radiant as she sat up in her hospital bed 

It came after Maeva shared a video from her hospital bed and confirmed there is ‘still no baby’ at nine days overdue.

The French reality star said in the clip she had no idea the process would be ‘so long’.

‘We are still in the hospital and the baby is still not here,’ Maeva said on her Instagram story.

Maeva gave fans an update sharing a video in hospital as doctors attempted to bring on her labour.

As Maeva asked him how he was doing, James quipped: ‘It’s the World Cup! I am busy. Call me later when the baby is here, please.’

Maeva recently looked back on an eventful year of getting ‘engaged to the man of my dreams and expecting a beautiful little baby’ as she turned 30 in August.

The French reality TV personality showed off her bump in an orange strappy mini-dress as she posed in front of silver 30 balloons while reflecting on the final year of her twenties being ‘the best one’.

Maeva posted a gallery of images, including treasured memories of her engagement to co-star James in April and a picture of one of the couple’s baby scans as they awaited the arrival of their first child.

She wrote on Instagram: ’30!!!! My last year of my twenties was the best one, I’m a very lucky girl. 

‘Being engaged to the man of my dreams and expecting a beautiful little baby, the year ahead is going to be magical.’

James also paid tribute to his ‘spicy señorita’ fiancée on her milestone birthday with an Instagram picture of the couple kissing, accompanied by a sweet caption. 

He wrote: ‘Happy 30th birthday to a spicy señorita that made my life a whole lot more challenging, along with a huge amount of love. Looking forward to raising a family with you @maevadascanio.

Maeva and James announced the fiery French beauty was pregnant in May. 

She told Hello! magazine at the time: ‘All my dreams are coming true at the same time. I still don’t believe it! It’s all amazing – I just want to enjoy it all as much as I can.’

James said: ‘We are more excited every day. My dad told me that when he had his first child he never thought he could love something so much.

The couple, who have been together for three years, got engaged in April while visiting the Trevi Fountain in Rome.

Maeva recalled throwing a coin into the Italian landmark as befits tradition, and making a wish that James would propose. 

She told the publication: ‘I did my wish which was, ‘I really hope James is going to propose to me soon’. 

‘And then I opened my eyes and he was there on one knee. I was thinking, ‘Wow, this is it! Is this real?’ It was everything I had ever wanted.’ 

James proposed with a 2.5-carat pear-shaped diamond engagement ring which he designed – and had already asked Maeva’s father for permission to marry her last year.

The engagement may have come as a surprise to some Made In Chelsea viewers after James admitted to kissing another girl behind Maeva’s back on the show earlier this year, in what he described as a ‘drunken night’ at a London club.

James’ romantic gesture also came weeks after he rejected Maeva when she got down on one knee in scenes filmed for the E4 series.

The reality star confessed to drunkenly kissing another woman behind Maeva’s back, saying he ‘hated’ himself for betraying her.

James said: ‘I disrespected our relationship that night, I disrespected you, I threw everything away for a drunken night and I hate myself for it.’ 

Hysterically crying at the revelation, Maeva sobbed: ‘You were the man, you were the dad of my kids, I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life.’

James told Maeva ‘I’ve got a f***ing ring’ before the dramatic scene ended with viewers believing the couple had gone their separate ways.

A source subsequently told MailOnline that Maeva forgave James for the infidelity, and they decided to put the past behind them.

James said: ‘It feels like I have everything I have ever wanted – it’s that secure feeling that this is my woman, forever.’

Maeva added: ‘I feel protected – being engaged to the man of my dreams is amazing. It’s a different love, it’s stronger, it’s deeper. I feel safe.’

The Made In Chelsea favourite praised her ‘incredible’ and ‘supportive’ co-star fiancé, and said she wants their baby to be ‘just like’ James in an interview with Closer magazine in August.

Famously feisty Maeva said: ‘I’m absolutely shattered from the pregnancy, planning the wedding, filming Made In Chelsea and moving house, but James has been so incredible and supportive.

‘I want the baby to be just like him, he’s always so calm and relaxed and happy. I hope they don’t inherit my feistiness, just my looks!’ 

Maeva also heaped praise upon her co-star ex-boyfriend, Miles Nazaire, 26, who she dated for three years before she joined the cast of Made In Chelsea in early 2019. 

The pair have had a notoriously rocky relationship ever since, with Miles left devastated when Maeva got together with his then-best friend James.

Maeva said: ‘I was not expecting him [Miles] to be very mature about the whole situation, but I was pleasantly surprised. He was really lovely and very supportive, which was nice.’

The couple’s co-star Tristan Phipps, 27, reflected on the next step in their relationship in an interview with new! magazine in August, in which he described Maeva as an ‘interesting character and James ‘an absolute animal’. 

Tristan said: ‘We’ve learnt you never really can be surprised by Maeva, she’s such an interesting character. But was I surprised by James’ proposal? Yes I was. I’ve known James six years and when I first met him, he was an absolute animal. 

‘He was the last man standing on every night out and quite the ladies’ man, and I think everything suddenly moved quite quickly for him after he got together with Maeva.

‘From moving out of London, getting engaged and now having a baby, I don’t think it was expected. But saying this, I’m happy for him.’
