MAFS Australia: Caitlin McConville tipped to return to the show next year

MAFS star Caitlin McConville tipped to return to the show next year for a second shot at love… after she left ‘cruel’ husband Shannon Adams

Married At First Sight bride Caitlin McConville made a shock exit on Sunday after saying she would no longer be disrespected by her ‘husband’ Shannon Adams.

But this may not be the last we see of Caitlin, who is tipped to return to the show next year for another shot at love due to the ‘unique circumstances’ of her exit.

‘She was ready to give everything to the experiment but was matched with a dud who was still in love with his ex,’ a source told Yahoo Lifestyle.

‘The powers behind the show and viewers feel she was done dirty. Bringing her back for a second chance isn’t out of the question if she’s still single when filming [for the next season] starts in August.’

The 27-year-old makeup artist, from Queensland, has already confirmed she is open to returning to MAFS if she doesn’t find love outside the experiment.

‘If I was single and hadn’t found somebody yet, I would definitely be open to coming back. But I’m hoping to have found somebody by then!’

Caitlin’s exit comes after Shannon, 30, revealed on Sunday’s episode why he felt the need to make such cruel comments about her.

The personal trainer had earlier told Caitlin she wasn’t ‘good looking’ enough for him.

During the commitment ceremony, relationship expert John Aiken asked Shannon: ‘Why did you feel the need to say all those things to Caitlin?’

‘I don’t really have an answer for you… I said them just to hurt her. I’m really sorry I’ve done this. I’m gutted,’ he responded.

‘I’m really sorry, but I want to stay,’ Shannon added, before confirming his decision to stay in the experiment.

However, Caitlin told Shannon she was fed up with his empty apologies and tired of his ‘cruel’ behaviour.

She told him: ‘We can’t keep moving forward on the premise of “I’ll own it” but with no action of doing better. It’s an apology followed by anger and aggression, and defensiveness – not an apology that is actioned.

‘This isn’t what I wanted, and if I’m being honest, if I could do it all over again with someone else I would. I deserve that chance but this man does not deserve me. So I will be leaving.’

While Shannon looked shocked by Caitlin’s decision, John, his fellow experts and the other MAFS couples all applauded her.
